Privacy Policy

Summary

Formstr does not collect, store, track, or share your personal data. We have no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party tracking. All your content - forms, events, documents, files - is generated on your device and stored on servers you choose. The only exception is paid features, where your pseudonymous public key is stored on our servers to verify access - see the Paid Features section below.

How Formstr Works

Formstr is built on the Nostr protocol. Your identity is a pair of cryptographic keys that you own. Formstr never sees or stores your private key.

All content you create is encrypted on your device before it leaves. It is sent to Nostr relays - independent, community-run servers - that you select. Formstr does not run or control these relays. If you explicitly make something public, it becomes readable by anyone on the network.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
  • We do not collect device identifiers or hardware information
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not collect usage analytics or crash reports
  • We do not use cookies, pixels, or any tracking technology
  • We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or data processing services

Data Stored on Your Device

To keep you signed in and remember your preferences, Formstr saves a small amount of information locally on your device - your public key, your preferred relay servers, and app settings. You can remove this at any time by clearing the app's data.

Paid Features

Some Formstr features - such as paid forms, custom short links, and other premium capabilities - require payment verification. For these features, your Nostr public key is stored on our servers solely to verify your payment and grant access. Your public key is a pseudonymous cryptographic identifier - it is not personally identifiable information (PII). It is never linked to your name, email, or any other identity. This data is not sold or shared with third parties. You can request deletion of this data at any time - see the Contact Us section below.

Third-Party Services

The Nostr relays and storage servers you connect to are operated by independent third parties and governed by their own privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

Formstr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no personal data from any user, there is no data to identify or remove.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our products evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Formstr after an update means you accept the revised policy.
